i appreciate the diversity of martial arts in kengan as opposed to baki

wheres muay thai? bjj? wrestling? sambo? half of the characters in the series are solely karate or kung fu practitioners and barely anything else, and the characters that DO practice something that isnt those two get embarrassed, at least kengan seems to treat all martial arts with respect and appreciate things that arent solely japanese based, hell, baki had a whole “arc” (best word i could use to describe it) to humiliate boxing, its not accurate to call any of these series realistic but at least kengan shows respect to nearly everything and has plenty of characters that arent solely karate, kung fu, or sheer overwhelming brute force

My Thoughts on Taro, the Rivals, and the Endings

TL;DR: Taro's character, the reasons behind the rivals' affection for him, the increasing difficulty in eliminating them, and the possible endings could be more compelling if chalex weren't so lazy and close-minded.

Concept: Without rivals, Taro appears bland. As more rivals appear, we gradually uncover Taro's true personality.

Rivals:

  • Osana: Taro is patient with her, unaffected by her mean tendencies.
  • Amai: Despite losing a childhood friend, Taro remains open to new friendships.
  • Kizana: Taro's willingness to engage in activities outside his comfort zone, like theater, shows his open-mindedness.
  • Oka: Taro is kind to Oka despite her odd interests, even though he dislikes the occult.
  • Asu: Taro enjoys fun activities and avoids negative spirals, despite life's challenges.
  • Muja: Taro's visits to the school nurse show his desire to care for others.
  • Mida: Taro's efforts to improve academically, becoming Mida's private tutor, demonstrate his commitment to self-improvement.
  • Osoro: Taro sees beyond appearances, valuing good intentions over reputation.
  • Hanako: Taro's selflessness is evident in his acceptance of his sister's neediness.
  • Megami: Taro's sense of justice aligns with Megami's principles.

Ayano's Perspective: As Ayano learns more about Taro, her obsession grows, intensifying her disturbing fixation.

Negative Traits: Taro has flaws:

  1. Represses negative emotions to avoid worrying others.
  2. Prioritizes others' happiness over his own needs.
  3. Vulnerable to trauma, leading to anxiety and hostility.
  4. Slow learner, failing to recognize rivals' intentions.

  2. Poor Ending: All rivals reject Taro, leaving him desperate for connection. He accepts Ayano's confession out of low self-esteem. (YOU WON?)
  3. Bad Ending: Taro rejects all rivals, realizing he needs more time to form a healthy relationship. He rejects Ayano's confession. (YOU LOSE)
  4. Good Ending: Taro remains unaware of the rivals' eliminations and accepts Ayano's confession. (YOU WON)
  5. Best Ending: Ayano befriends all rivals, impressing Taro with her kindness. He happily accepts her confession. (YOU WON)
  6. Secret Ending: Taro subtly rejects Ayano, leading her to kidnap and torture him. Taro has no choice but to comply. (YOU WON?)

  • Muja: Knowledgeable and careful despite clumsiness.
  • Mida: Experienced and cautious, making peaceful elimination difficult.
  • Osoro: Spends time with delinquents and is physically formidable.
  • Hanako: Overprotective of Taro, investigates suspicious eliminations.
  • Megami: Well-trained, strong, and supported by the school community.

Possible Dark Secrets:

Osana: Loves cute things but fears ridicule.

Amai: Mistreats rude customers subtly.

Kizana: Sabotaged someone to get a lead role.

Oka: Performs disturbing occult rituals.

Asu: Was sexually harassed by a respected coach.

Muja: Accidentally worsened a student's health condition.

Mida: Cheated on her final thesis.

Osoro: Harmed an innocent person by mistake.

Hanako: Drove away Taro's friends to protect him.

Megami: Raised with extreme expectations, lacking a normal childhood.

struggling

I have been struggling with this one thing for almost 2 years and I feel like it's just getting worse. Last summer I was on vacation and I suddenly got the thoughts of unaliving my family, of course I started panicking and I would get really bad panic attacks to the point where I'd think I would Get a hear attack and would have to go to my parents. Then it slowly started getting worse??? On summer vacation it would happen 2 times a week expect now I get it every single night. And if that night it was really bad then I'd wake up and feel the same for the rest day. I always get intrusive thoughts to unalive anyone. If im in a class I get the urge to hurt the people in my class, if im with my family I get the urge to hurt them, and If im by myself I get the urge to unlalive myself. It's like any living thing thats near me I have to kill it. One time I was in my room and my family left and There was a hook on my ceiling and I got the intrusive thought to h4ng myself and I ignored it. Then I started getting really bad urges and this weird feeling in my chest and hands that I feel like I'll start strangling myself soon. I used to be anxious about everything but now I feel like I have no feelings. Whenever something bad happens to someone I don't feel empathy at all. Whenever I think of anyone dying I don't feel bad either. It started getting even worse where I get an intrusive thought every night and during the day to unalive someone and then I get this weird feeling in my chest to halfway of my arms. It feels like If I kill someone I'll feel like that everywhere and I will feel relieved. I noticed I also can't control my anger as good as I used to too. Every day I wake up wondering if everyone is alive and whenever I'm in the house with only 1 person the urges are back. I feel like I lost complete empathy for everything. If something bad happens to even a little kid or some family member I feel like I would have no feelings. I have been going to martial arts classes but I couldn't go a couple of times because of my severe dizziness. It feels like I'm holding myself back everyday. I wanted to get a therapist but my parents are really strict and they don't think I need it. My dad would flip out if I asked him. I told my mom a little bit of what I'm having and she snitched to my dad and he freaked out and said "so she wants to k1ll us?!" and I had to lie and say that its not true. I noticed my parents are distancing themself from me more than before. I cannot even get any help because in 4 days I'm going to vacation and Its in Europe where I don't have any insurance. I don't know what to do anymore. I also noticed I get really angry and jealous easily. Ever since I was a kid I hated whenever my parents would even just say one word to a kid. My parents would tease me when I was a little kid that I'm getting a little sister/brother and I would start crying non stop. One time as a kid my mom held my aunt's baby and I was holding back from crying. Now obviously it's gotten better and I don't get that jealous but whenever I see them talking nicely to anyone my age or comparing me to someone I get really mad. And with the anger I noticed I started throwing things, yelling, talking back, and hitting myself???? And on top of that I'm not sure all of this is even OCD because these are the only symptoms I have? I don't over check if the stove is off, etc and Ive never had a problem with those kind of things? Whenever I try to tell my parents maybe I have something serious they say I am a hypochondriac and say "it's all because of that phone"????

Kill Bill Vol 2 (2007) The Sensical Cut

Outline: Re-edited shot by shot, shots either trimmed or removed, and the sound/music reworked. The idea was to make a pacier, more kinetic & tightly edited version with dialogue more focused, more intense fights, and a faster pace in scenes, fights & dialogue to make a sequel that feels more in tone with the slick original Kill Bill movie.

The first Kill Bill made homage to many aspects of eastern cinema, from the wild Japanese style editing, to the over the top Hong Kong action movies, to the slower less over edited martial art movies of the 70s ...and it all worked together. That same energy I felt wasn't delivered in the sequel after the gory fun frantic energy of the original movie. But when it came out... Something was off about Kill Bill 2 for me. So i sat to rewatch it to work out what that was. The sequel felt (to me) like some of the dialogue wasn't as snappy, the pace far to slow, it lacked the vibrant energy the first one boasted, and scenes felt bloated. After the kinetic style of the first film (still incorporating great slower paced sequences like the death of O'Renn) The editing felt sloppy, with both the pace and edits feeling glacial at times. Some scenes (like Buddy at work, or with the gravedigging pal, felt less slickly scripted in comparison to the previous 4 movies by Mr Tarantino. The long walking shots to music felt like just that, long walking shots, rather than adding style or character atmosphere for the audience. The fights had weak continuity at times, as did some edits in other scenes, mostly michael madsens. I do love how this one is shot, I like the dialogue, and really enjoyed the training by the Sifu, but really... I rarely dig this out to watch, and if I do, I rarely finish it. The slow meandering intro, long pauses between dialogue, and often not adding tension or suspense, makes my mind begin to wonder during scenes, or friends i'm watching it with start to chat over it. So since I re-edited Kill Bill Vol. 1, I have been tinkering with this movie to try and make it feel more focused, have a more continuous pace, and for myself to create the worthy sequel to the first I felt wasn't delivered in 2004. Over the time of editing I realised that the scenes just all really badly needed a lot of tightening with smoother sound edits flowing together from one shot into another. ...Really I just wanted to see if I could make a cut I enjoyed more, & that I might watch more often in the future when i decide to dig out part 1. Hopefully you enjoy this different version of Kill Bill 2 as no scene, dialogue, or music montage is the same as the original version. People know the crack now, I keep what I think works and remove what I find doesn't (this is of course debatable, but hey, it's my edit) then I spend a few nights making the sound work so hopefully the edits are seamless.

  • Every shot has been trimmed if necessary (basically all of them) to help pacing/style/continuity, and the music reworked to smooth over the many changes to each sequence.

  • Recut Bill & Mr Blonde speaking at caravan. Removed dialogue on selling sword cost and Beatrix deserving to die too.
  • Recut Mr Blonde at work. cut Mr Blonde walking from truck to bar. Removed dialogue such as Stripper asking if she should leave, one of the days being scrubbed off the board, and about Mr Blondes hated hat, and Rockets end reaction. Trimmed/removed some tracking shots
  • Recut Mr Blonde arriving home and suspicious of his surroundings. Cut looking at his hat cross-eyed.
  • Recut Beatrix Coming up to door for revenge
  • Recut Mr Blonde talking at Beatrix and call to Elle. Dialogue Removed. Zoomed shot of Mr Blonde getting blood sat over him so you can't see the glass of blood thrown at his right side.
  • Recut Burial sequence. Dialogue removed such as Beatrix being sweet ass pussy, eyes burning. Recut Being nailed In. Recut Darness and Inside coffin.
  • Recut Bill and Beatrix at campfire.
  • Recut arriving at temple.
  • Recut meeting Sifu Pai Mei
  • Recut Beatrix & Pai Mei sword fight & Tiger Claw fight

I may try to do an edit of both volumes as one movie (with sequences in probably a new order) and will just go with what feels right and if I can get something to work. As that may go on a backburner, or take some time, here is a cut of Vol. 2 to pair with my sensical cut of Vol. 1.

What are the things we can do to become as close to superheroes as possible?

Watching shows like Dragon Ball Z/Super and Invincible has made me obsessed with wanting to be a hero. The superhero archetype speaks very deeply to me. I want to directly do good in the world.

So I'm taking up martial arts (kickboxing) and going to the gym. That's been going well, but I realize now that that's just one part of the equation. It seems like to me, being a hero would involve some kind of combination of capability AND proximity.

Towards that end, I was thinking I could also learn CPR, undergo basic first aid training of some flavor, and perhaps become a volunteer firefighter.

I was wanting other ideas from more people. Thank you for your time and suggestions!

2 years post chemo fatigue finally improving

If you check my previous post you will notice that post chemo fatigue hit me hard. It is exactly 2 years since I started chemo (esc BEACOPP) and I can say that my fatigue is going away. I just had my full workday without any issues, I started martial arts again and I can do 500 km+ bike rides per day once again.

It’s easy to give up once treatment is over and you see yourself weak. Just give it some time and your body will adapt.

Reworking Taro (now in a dedicated post)

Or rather, in a dedicated repost, because silly me couldn't read the pinned post and wait a few hours before posting my text the first time.

After giving a proper rewrite to Ayano, it's now time to do the same for her love interest. But first, I must give my apologises. The title of my post is "Reworking Taro", but it's actually misleading because there was barely any work to redo to begin with. Ok, there was the easy jab at the original character. Reading my previous rewrite posts isn't necessary to understand this one, but would allow you to grasp the differences with the official game better. If you're too lazy to do so, just keep in mind that my rewrite is a bit more social-focused. Anyway, here's my full-fledged take on our senpai.

Just an ordinary upperclassman: Daiki Tanaka (田中 大樹)

Although Taro Yamada is a perfectly valid Japanese name, it's literally the Japanese equivalent of John Doe. This name just gives me the impression that nothing really matters about him, and that it isn't even worth the effort thinking about a proper name. That might have been the dev's intention, given Taro's characterisation in the game, but I personally can't consider being so lazy about the second most important character. So, rather than keeping this name that makes Senpai seem like some background character, I chose names that actually are very common in Japan in order to keep the "average guy" feeling. The most common Japanese surname is Sato (佐藤), but that sounded a bit too generic for me, so I opted for Tanaka (田中), another widespread name that you might already have seen in some anime. Surprisingly, despite also being common, Yamada (山田) doesn't even come close. For his first name, "Daiki" (written like this: 大樹) means "big tree". It's a fairly popular boy name during the last decades and doesn't refer to anything particular, except maybe the fact that he is a big brother.

Just like many other mediocre harem MC, the main problem with Taro is that he is extremely bland. There's literally nothing worth noticing about him. Now don't get me wrong, making one of your main characters an Average Joe isn't a bad thing in itself, and I know that a yandere having a crush on ordinary people is nothing uncommon in modern Japanese media. However, even the most boringly average person that you can think of still has defined personality, goals, and passions that makes them at least more interesting than a slice of stale bread. In our case, you could replace Taro with a random object and the story would still make as much sense, which usually isn't a good sign for a story meant to have a serious tone. Just like my name choice suggested it, I wanted my version of Taro to stay ordinary. However, I tried to flesh out the little characterization he originally has to make him stand out in his own way, so that the numerous girls' interest in him would feel a bit less unbelievable.

This is Daiki Tanaka, a 17-years old Japanese boy living with his parents and his little sister. Like many other Japanese high-schoolers, he goes to high school from Monday to Friday, attends classes, studies for his tests, and hopes he will be accepted in a good university. And just like many other teenagers, he is is having interrogations about what he wants to do after graduation, how his classmates view him, and whether he'll find himself a girlfriend. Clearly, he's just an average student. Among the typical students you can find in a school, Daiki is a hard-working one. Pressured both by his parents and himself to get the best opportunities he can to settle his future, he is self-conscious about his academic performances and is always trying to improve his grades. Thus, he preferred to remain clubless and spend his free time alone to focus on his studies. Most of the time, he is seen studying at the school library, or reading a book of classic literature next to the fountain. But behind this ordinary reserved bookworm loner appearance is a kind and cultivated boy with a strong sense of justice and a clear passion for the old texts he's reading, making him actually quite a charming person to spend time with for those who can see past his plain exterior. Ayano, of course, is one of those few people, but little did she know that she won't be the only one interested in her dear senpai.

Gameplay role

According to the wiki:

Gameplay-wise, Taro is more similar to a "moving obstacle" rather than a regular interactive student, as he cannot be interacted with normally.

And you see, to me, that's a big problem. You spend the entire game keeping rivals away from Senpai by killing them, making them uninterested in him, or ruining their reputation, and after all the bad experiences he had with those (rather) normal girls, you expect me to believe that the girl Senpai, the perfectly normal guy at all levels, ends up choosing is the creepy lonely student that he has barely spoken to? Nah, I don't buy it. This is why, in my rewrite, my Senpai would be (most of the time) considered as a regular student that you can actually interact with. That means, first, that Ayano wouldn’t get immediately flustered by him when approaching him. I understand that people, especially teenagers, can act shy, nervous, or a little clumsy when their crush are at sight, but seriously, the depiction of this behaviour in the game is completely ridiculous. So, in my hypothetical game, you will have a small amount of time where you will be able to act normally near Daiki and talk to him before your heart starts beating louder and the screen gradually turns pink. Past this point, things pretty much happen the same as in the official game, since Ayano is emotionally unstable. Naturally, the more you interact with Daiki, the longer you will be able to remain calm in his presence.

Now that Senpai can be interacted with, it’s time to explore the potential of this addition by giving him another feature regular students have: tasks. Even if you can withstand his aura a bit better than in the official game, most of the conversations you’ll have with him won’t be long due to Ayano’s shyness. So, if you want to befriend Daiki, those little errands are the key to increase your affinity with him. For a more immersive narration, Daiki's tasks won't be your usual fetch quests that you can accept or refuse, but small talk where you must pay attention and figure out what to do to by yourself. The tasks will be at first very simple, like bringing him his schoolbag that he forgot in his classroom or gifting him the book he wanted to buy. Then, as he feels more comfortable around you, he will start talking a bit more openly about his life and his preoccupations, naturally leading to more complex tasks with more vague formulations and less obvious solutions, such as helping him become less invisible among his classmates. What would be the point of doing all that, will you ask? Having a higher affinity with Daiki will allow Ayano to make him follow her if you need to tactically move him for one of your eliminations. He will also be more likely to reject the rivals’ love confessions in case you don’t have the time to deal with them yourself. Moreover, narrative-wise, I think having the main character interact with their love interest would be a more realistic and healthier depiction of romance in the story. Well, as “healthy” as a yandere can be. But of course, you could also completely ignore this mechanic and focus on eliminating if you want to.

Finally, I would like to improve the reactions he has regarding students' disappearances. Despite all those things happening near him, he is shocked for a bit and then just kinda... accept it like nothing strange happened? The second most important character of the game, ladies and gentlemen. I get it, Senpai is a loner, he is passive, and he is dense. But at this point, that's not being passive anymore, that's being a wooden plank. So, this is my take: Daiki's sense of justice and passion for literature gave him a natural curiosity for crimes because of its depiction in novels. When facing murder, he will mostly act according to the loner archetype. However, if too many deaths or disappearances near him stay unresolved by the police and his sanity is high enough, he will find the courage to take a more active role and investigate on the crimes himself. Obviously, Daiki won't be able to arrest anyone by himself, but he has the advantage of being directly at the crime place and closer to the people at school than the police. Thus, he could report them additional details that they might have missed, like a student acting stranger than usual, missing tools or places cleaner than usual. This could put you in trouble unless you cover your tracks very well, or just prevent him from investigating. And of course, I would also implement Senpai's sanity meter that has been promised for I don't know how much time (but honestly, are you still hoping for it to be implemented after all that happened?), although slightly reworked. Daiki's sanity would decrease with any person dying. The closer the person is to him, both physically and figuratively, the lower it would drop. The deaths that would affect him the most would thus be those of his sister, his childhood friend, or anyone murdered right in front of him. On the opposite, a random student dying at the other side of the school would barely have any effect. A low sanity would have various effects on Daiki depending on its value and the amount of time he has spent with the other students. Those effects could be taking private lessons due to his grades dropping, joining a certain club to feel safer, or shutting himself in at home in one of the worst scenarios. In any case, this would affect his routine. Just like in the official concept, he would be able to recover sanity with a long enough crimeless period or giving him gifts. Only now would the rivals also be able to use the later method to gain affection, making them act a bit more like romantic rivals. I hope you don't mind actually caring about your senpai's mental health.

Relationships with other characters

The rivals

Obviously, a reworked senpai means reworked dynamics with your main targets. Since detailing everything would be way too long for a single post, I'll just link here my take on the romantic rivals that I decided to keep in my hypothetical game, and here, what I'd do with the discarded ones. Since they are Daiki's closest people, and the most likely to affect his mood in the game, I'll still put here what I have in mind for my version of Osana and Hanako.

His sister

Just like his canon counterpart, Daiki loves his sister very much. A feeling that is reciprocated a bit too much. Unlike her brother who has a balanced lifestyle, the middle-schooler is a very clingy girl who can't imagine being away from him. She has the bad habit of leaving her school during lunchtime just to visit him, which greatly embarrasses Daiki. Even if he appreciates the time they spend together in the end, he knows that this behaviour is unhealthy, and hope that, one day, his sister will find the confidence to become more independent. In my rewrite, the little sister isn't a romantic rival, but someone that I'd call a "big obstacle", as her role is mainly to appear at random (or maybe not, I haven't decided yet) days during lunchtime and potentially mess up your planification for the day. You wouldn't want to kill someone in front of your crush's beloved sister, right?

His childhood friend

Daiki and his sister have known their neighbours' daughter for more than a decade. All three of them used to play together during their childhood. The neighbours' daughter is a brash and impulsive girl, whose personality clashes with Daiki's quieter nature. Despite frequently being at odds and arguing about trivial things, both of them deeply care about each other and would be the first person to help the other if they were having problems. Daiki and his friend didn't have many occasions to see each other since elementary school, until the girl coincidentally transferred to the same high school as him. Even if he is now more serious and reserved than before, deep inside, he is still the same kind boy that she knew. Now that they can once again spend much time together, the girl has come to realize she was in love with her dear friend, but her internal turmoil and her personality make it difficult for her to act sincere and confess her feelings. She stays otherwise pretty similar to Osana, except for the greater consequences when dealing with her by using lethal eliminations, and maybe the fact that she won't be the first rival to appear.

Budo (or whatever name I'll end up giving him)

Yes, you read it right. That guy that overshadows Senpai among the fans is one of his friends in my rewrite. Because even the most introverted individuals are able to develop relationships with people that aren't potential romantic interests. The leader of the martial arts club is an outgoing action-oriented boy who is pretty popular at school. Unlike Daiki, Budo always knew in his heart that his place would be in a dojo, and thus doesn't have much interest in academics. But despite having such different backgrounds and personalities, both boys share the same sense of justice and admiration toward heroes. When he's not attending classes, studying or reading, Daiki hangs out with Budo, and is sometimes invited to watch the martial arts club members practicing. If too many dangerous events happen around Daiki, Budo, as an aspiring hero and good friend, will propose to escort him at certain periods, becoming basically a part-time bodyguard.

Ayano

Nothing much to say here. Daiki unknowingly reminded Ayano, who has locked her heart for years, how great it is to have feelings when they first met, and now she wants to make sure nothing stands between them. How she will reach her ends is your decision. If she decides to spend time with him and do his tasks, he will think of her as a peculiar, but well-intentioned girl. Just like in canon, Daiki is oblivious to Ayano's feelings, but it's more due to the fact that they barely know each other.

Trivia
  • Regarding his career choice, Daiki is hesitating between becoming an author, a lawyer or a criminologist.
  • Like Taro, he also likes nature and gardening, but to a lesser extend.
  • Sometimes, instead of a book of classic literature, you can see him reading the latest crime novel at the fountain. With a pen and a writing pad, because he's just that invested.
  • Since he is friend with Budo, he sometimes feels too plain and boring compared to him regarding romance. If you use matchmaking to eliminate a rival, his self-consciousness will grow a bit stronger.
  • He has never bought a panty shot from Info-chan, but honestly, do you really find this surprising, or even relevant? He has never even contacted Info-chan.
  • I had quite the choice among popular Japanese boy names. Daiki could've been named "Yamato", "Daisuke", "Hiroto", "Yuto", "Yuu", or even "Satoshi" instead.
  • In the official game, if Ayano commits a crime in his sight while wearing a mask, Taro will rip the mask off her face with no regard for his safety or his character consistency. I would like to get rid of this behaviour for Daiki, except for one specific circumstance.

And that was my full-fledged take on Taro. When you have an ordinary person as a character in the middle of very colourful ones, the key to make the public care about him is to give them tangible preoccupations that, even if they aren't always relatable, make this character at least feel like a real person with human struggles and dreams, and not just a barebone plot device. And that might seems obvious, but if you have to write a love interest, make sure you actually show your public what your main character likes about him. That's even more important in the case where many people are attracted to this character. I tried to take those two things into account when rewriting Taro, and I know it's far from perfect, so don't hesitate to tell me what I should improve. In any case, if you made it to the end, thank you for taking the time to read this long post. I hope I'll find the motivation to do the same with other characters.

Introduction to my fictional Shared Universe the JoeVerse.

I want to share a overview/introduction to my fictional universe that I've been slowly building overtime. I've unfortunately fallen into eternal world building hell where I build far more than I write but at least I thoroughly enjoy it. What I mostly want from this post is to see if the wild amalgamation that is my universe is at least on a surface level "Coherent".
I'll answer any questions best I can.

Disclaimer: the pictures shown in the character summaries are not mine and are shown for concept art purposes. These character summaries are taken from across the JoeVerse universe.

Notes: Some information is purposely left vague due to the requirement of story details and I tried to simply the explanations. It may see very unorganized but I created a continuity timeline to help keep track of the verse.

I also created detailed guides for the many Stories, Races/Species, Factions, Locations and Dear God hundreds of Character profiles. Introduction:

Welcome to the JoeVerse(Name Pending), a long time literary project that acts as both homage to what I love as well as a deep-dive into my creative mind. The JoeVerse is a fictional "Shared Universe" where a large number of characters, locations and stories created primarily by myself and in collaboration with others take place. The JoeVerse is depicted as existing within a large "Multiverse" consisting of a number of separate & distinct universes, all of which help make up the JoeVerse Multiverse.

The most crucial aspect of the JoeVerse Multiverse is that it also incorporates a large number of genres from all major science fiction and fantasy concepts, such as how aliens, gods, magic, mythology, cosmic beings, parallel universes, interstellar travel and extremely advanced human-developed technology all exist prominently throughout the Multiverse.

The JoeVerse primarily was created to express my love for "Action" and the many forms it comes in. For example the many pieces of media entertainment I consumed as a child. e.g Cartoons, Comics, Anime, Books, Video Games, Martial arts, Music, Movies, etc) all strongly and directly influenced the creation of the JoeVerse. The JoeVerse's many stories primarily focus on the aspects I like about these pieces of entertainment such as Action, Characters, Power-Scaling, Continuity, Worldbuilding and Paying Homage to these oh so cherished pieces of media.

)))JoeVerse Prime: At the heart of this multiverse lies the mainstream continuity, which is known canonically as "JoeVerse Prime". JoeVerse Prime is based on a fictitious take on the real-world. For example, Earth found within the JoeVerse Prime has mostly all the features of the real one: same countries, same public personalities (politicians, movie stars, etc.), same historical events (such as World War II, the Cold War), and so on; however, it also contains many other fictional elements, such as new geographical locations, political organizations and a number of new & different historical events.

Corners & Sub-Corners:(Re-read if needed) The JoeVerse Prime is divided into four separate major settings of distinct & “Broad '' genres known as "Corners". The four respective Corners are Earth, Intergalactic, the Naatherlands and the Interdimensional. All Corners house minor settings of typically more “Focused” genres & stories known as "Sub-corners". The Corners and their respective Sub-corners are liable to "Crossover" and even connect with one another.

Four Corners explained:

)Earth: Starting with "Earth", home to an abundance of "Action & Adventure" series featuring primarily humanity through various times in history (I.e stories can take place anywhere from Ancient times all the way to the Modern era and beyond).The majority of stories told on Earth feature subjects & characters such as war, criminals, detectives, espionage, politics, assassins, soldiers, super soldiers, spies, mutants, zombies, magic, warriors, martial artists and then some.

There are also Earth's five sub-corners, starting with the "Underworld", home to the stories of "Urban Fantasy" about the supernatural & often cruel world of Vampires, Gargoyles, Lycans and much more all vying for survival and power while living just under the periphery of human civilization. The Underworld explores the supernatural civilization that has co-existed alongside humanity since ancient times.

Then the second Sub-corner, the "Holy War", a myriad of stories using lore based on the many “Mythologies & Folklore” of various human cultures, these stories follow the secret, ancient, bloody war of the Celestial Church. The Celestial Church is a 2000 year old clandestine organization of holy; warriors, soldiers, mages, knights, nuns, monks and more gathered from the many religions & cultures from around the globe to be the stalwart shield & sharpened blade against the supernatural, the unending swathes of powerful demons attempting to invade Earth and the unspeakable evil entities from alternate dimensions all of which has threatened humanity since it's conception.

Then the "West Coast Tales", a dramatic & grounded anthology series based in and around the West Coast of America. In every story we follow new characters in vastly different situations in life as they deal with family, drama, violence, romance, finances, sickness, coming of age, natural disasters, etc.

Then, the "Virtual World", a video game-like dimension that is home to various "LitRPG" focused stories. The Virtual World is directly connected to Earth via the highly popular, full-body capsule operated VRMMO known as the T.B.G system(Name pending). The Virtual world naturally houses the concept of "Gaming" thus it converts anything that enters it into data that follows its unique laws of reality and thus it has NPCs, Boss fights, Exp, Quest, Stats, H.U.Ds, Builds, Classes, etc.

Finally, the "Kaijin conflict" is the "Kaiju genre" focused storyline about the international conflict between the South Korean based Iskandar Industries with a human mutant sub-species known as the Kaijin. The Kaijin have superhuman abilities and are liable to become animalistic and go on a rampage; they also have the ability to transform into giant destructive monsters known as Kaijus.

)Naatherlands: The next Corner, the "Naatherlands", a large somber dimension that is home to the land of the "Supernatural & the Macabre". With it having stories of Vampires, Lycans, Gremlins, Gargoyles, Witches & Warlocks, horrific wildlife & flora and warring factions led by barbaric warlords. There is also varying levels of industrialized magic-based technology all in the backdrop of a Victorian era-esque(Gaslamp) setting.

And it's singular sub-corner the "Court of Blood", a "Political" focused series that shows the inner workings of the cunning, devious and often blood thirsty motives and actions of the royal members and leading factions of the upper echelon of the Naatherlands as they go about the cruel game of politics.

)Intergalactic: Third Corner, the "Intergalactic" is the setting encompassing the vast Cosmos of which Earth is a part of. The Intergalactic is home to various "Sci-fi" stories full of aliens, robots, artificial intelligence, spacecrafts, advanced and futuristic weapons & technology, interstellar bounty hunters, psychic power wielding warriors as well as galaxy spanning empires and Interstellar warfare.

Its first Sub-corner, "The War of Order & Chaos" is a "Mecha" inspired set of stories about the eternal struggle across the known universe between the immensely powerful chosen warriors of Order & Chaos known as the "Exuu'd". The Exuu’d are random individuals chosen from around the cosmos, if Chaos they are made to spread destruction, misery & death, if Order they are made to spread salvation, love & positivity. For the side of Chaos an Exuu’d can be criminals, scumbags or even prolific serial killers, for Order the Exuu’ds can be lawmen, samaritans or even average civilians. Regardless of origin the Exuu'd all fight each other for the very balance of the Cosmos. They are also gifted the powerful, sentient mechanized beings known as the Exxoms(Mechas) to assist in their endeavors. Exxoms all have unique designs, personalities and weapons & abilities.

Its second Sub-corner "Aon", a "Sword and Planet" inspired storyline, planet and accompanying solar system. The Aon system is locked outside of time & reality and for unknown reasons travelers from the Intergalactic, Interdimensional and even across time get pulled into the mysterious system by an unknown force. Since being secluded by conventional time both the inhabitants & technology have progressed in a way that there are varying levels of technology. There are crude medieval swords & armor as well as lasers, bolters, throwers and other advanced energy weapons. All inhabitants of Aon regardless of age and race are magically kept in their prime age & appearance. There is also a special & powerful magic known as "Laasa", that only women can harness and use. This has led to the majority of the system being ruled or fought over by factions of women led armies and warriors.

)Interdimensional: Lastly, the "Interdimensional", a catch-all term referring to the nigh-infinite Dimensions that make up the JoeVerse Prime. The Interdimensional is home to many genre blending stories of action, fantasy, science fiction and adventure all in the backdrop of numerous and radically different settings. This corner is populated by a myriad of exotic and powerful races such as the Angels of Heaven, the Demons of Hell, the reality warping Mymths, the cosmic beings known as the Balancers, the biologically altered insectoid empire known as the Urrglom, the humanoid Avian warriors known as the Harrpen, the technologically advanced bloodthirsty androids the Praeoids and much more.

It's first Sub-corner the "Collegium Historia", an “informational” adventure series about an interdimensional group of like minded Scholars, Zoologist, Historians, Explorers and Warriors that work towards the detailed exploration & documentation of the untold number of dimensions and the species & culture they may hold. With the group being led by the renowned, cantankerous explorer and swordsman Scuto Magnus.

Then it's second Sub-corner "The Fantastical Land of ORBIS"(Name pending), a standalone "High-fantasy" world full of adventure, danger, magic and awe. With ORBIS being an immense landmass the size of Earth. ORBIS is also full of creatures & beings such as Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons and so much more. There are also a slew of fantasy iterations of medieval humans cultures e.g Daiyomondo Empire(Feudal Japan), Gyellhaer(Viking Age Scandanavia), Kingdom of Stanum(Chivalric Knight era Europe) and the Shou Chongtu Empire(Warring States period China).

JoeVerse Fun Facts:

Shared Universe definition: A Shared universe is a fictional universe in which multiple independently created works are set. One or more authors may contribute works to a shared universe. The concept of the “Corners & Sub-corners" are inspired by and based on the genre, character & location organization of Marvel and DC Comics.

Non-Canonically, the characters Cole Xaiver, Aiden Steel and Joseph were the first JoeVerse characters ever created in that order. With each of these characters being made to embody an aspect of the aforementioned media entertainment, Cole (Western media & concepts), Aiden (Eastern (Anime) media & concepts), Joseph(a mixture of both).

I'm trying to make the spiritual successor to Xwing for 90s DOS everyone craved, but Lucas Arts never delivered. I was also inspired by Wing Commander Privateer who's title led me to imagining building a giant fleet by buying more and more ships and making friends.

It has a bunch of bugs but these will be fixed in a week or two. It's still pretty fun and a base by which a HUGE HUGE potential WOW killer will be made on. fairly long patch notes of a subset of what I plan on doing in the future are at the bottom.

I'm exhausted... I spent close to a year on this patch... And the last 3 months was nothing but sleep, code, sleep, code, body necessities, balanced against being stress sick, normal sick, and trying not to break down due to being isolated non stop working... About 2000 hours in this patch alone, on top of 10,000 hours in the past 6 years before that, and I use an anthology of game resources that took me 20,000 hours to make. There's some bugs due to Unity compiling standalone improper from editor, but they'll be fixed, as well as the story line not in... It's a spoiler, but people say my SCI FI is better than any scifi man's ever written, it's at least good:

RTTG will give you the feel of a classic orthogonic chess like game with cover, vision and such, yet everyone plays at the same time. Do you think you can handle any fights or take some hits?

Almost all the time even in a fake play fight I find my Aspie body too over sensitive to even minor hits, especially in areas like my belly, face, and b***s. I feel like it’s very easy for those areas to feel excruciatingly painful that I can hardly keep myself in place even if I know when someone is bluffing his hits. I’m also ticklish to pokes and handling. Especially due no proper adequate training or experience. This makes me wonder how some NT who aren’t don’t seem to be martial arts specialists at all are just able to try taking hits and landing punches they don’t seemed to be designed for, may in reality have somehow experienced fighting before, when taking on like a criminal. I do feel like if it were a serious moment that I might have to get the big picture and motivate myself as much as possible to hold it, like if it were case of trying to defend a child or at least slowing down an attacker from someone’s life more important than mine. I have been in a karate class but that was short lived while young.

Disabled girl here in the hole, really would appreciate any and all help!

Okay, will be cross-posting this but will upload any and all help to show what I get between communities. Not here to make money, just really in the hole and it wasn't my fault (mostly).

Well first off, I am a permanently disabled girl here that had her life changed when I was driving me and my son to martial arts, someone cut us off and I ran into them. It really was a relatively minor wreck, but my airbag did not deploy and we thought I just got a concussion. A week later I was driving my Mom somewhere and I had a seizure when driving. We did not wreck then, my Mom was able to grab the wheel and pull the e-brake. But that was the start of my journey being diagnosed with medicine resistant intractable epilepsy. I have tried something like 16 meds and finally found one that kind of works, yet I still seize. I have also had 2 brain surgeries (for the RNS device in brain) and we may be looking at yet another to place more leads. I'm actually excited for that... it may be able to help my epilepsy more!

But about 4 months ago I turned in my renewal for food stamps. They just kept saying they were behind, didn't give me the help I desperately needed. As a result I had to just keep overcharging my account to get money for food. I needed that money for other things like rent, gas, bills, just everything. I would highly appreciate anyone that could donate some money my way and I will absolutely come back next month to help others. I love helping others, it kind of has always been my nature. Unlike my family though. That's a story for a different day.

I have my account overdrawn by $341. If anyone can donate ANYTHING to help me get that number to 0 or as close to it as I can, I'd be so so sooooo thankful. Do you need proof of anything of mine? Starfighter General official lasting MMO patch, I tried to make space fun.

I'm trying to make the spiritual successor to Xwing for 90s DOS everyone craved, but Lucas Arts never delivered. I was also inspired by Wing Commander Privateer who's title led me to imagining building a giant fleet by buying more and more ships and making friends.

It has a bunch of bugs but these will be fixed in a week or two. It's still pretty fun and a base by which a HUGE HUGE potential WOW killer will be made on. fairly long patch notes of a subset of what I plan on doing in the future are at the bottom.

I'm exhausted... I spent close to a year on this patch... And the last 3 months was nothing but sleep, code, sleep, code, body necessities, balanced against being stress sick, normal sick, and trying not to break down due to being isolated non stop working... About 2000 hours in this patch alone, on top of 10,000 hours in the past 6 years before that, and I use an anthology of game resources that took me 20,000 hours to make. There's some bugs due to Unity compiling standalone improper from editor, but they'll be fixed, as well as the story line not in... It's a spoiler, but people say my SCI FI is better than any scifi man's ever written, it's at least good:
