Here are all (*) of the new US and Canadian CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in April 2024, according to the Department of Energy. You can get the data yourself here.

These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:

1. Tesla drivers who haven't bought the official CCS adapter yet. Certain older Teslas need additional work done to accept the adapter.
2. Leaf owners like me, owners of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and some owners of older cars that also use CHAdeMO. If you drive such a car, see my matching post in r/leaf.

Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the Alternative Fuels Data Center data.

There were 330 CCS charging stations with a total of 682 chargepoints added or refreshed in April 2024, which is a major uptick in both stations and chargepoints. There were only 166 new CCS charging stations in April 2023, with only 267 chargepoints. Things are trending dramatically upwards.

Some part of this is due to Tesla Magic Dock stations. Previously Tesla didn't report these to the AFDC as CCS, but now they do. And that makes sense because all CCS drivers can use them.

NOTE: most Tesla Superchargers do NOT have magic dock as of this writing (all those shown in this report should have it). I recommend using PlugShare to locate compatible stations for your vehicle.

(*) "What about other Tesla Superchargers? Can't everybody charge with NACS now?"

It's coming for many makes and models, and for newer Ford models as well as a few other manufacturers charging at v3 and v4 Superchargers is already an option with a free adapter from the automakers. GM should release their adapter in the coming weeks. But since they are not open to all CCS vehicles, this report is not the place for them. Tesla's app provides the best guide to their locations, including locations that work with non-Tesla vehicles.

I have a nice life. In my mid-twenties. I'm doing great socially and financially. I live in a duplex penthouse apartment just outside a European capital city. My job is in marketing. I am handsome and very fit. Recently I have started taking interest in baking bread. I like to listen to a wide range of musical genres. I am also a sociopath.

One day about three years ago I received a direct message from a girl. “Listen, I don't usually do this, but I read your comment on this and that page and saw your pictures, and I’m just going to shoot my shot today. Hey, how are you? My name is Jade.”, with that being a made up name for Reddit, obviously. I get this type of DMs sometimes. Sometimes I’ll feel like responding. It never goes anywhere.

I checked out Jade’s Instagram profile. She was two years younger than me, about 20. Jade was a beautiful girl. A total Instagram baddie. Lots of followers. Lots of friends, parties, and trips to Vegas, Aruba, and Miami. From the profile Jade appeared to live at home with her middle-class parents and siblings in their nice suburban home in the New England area in America. She was a hairdresser at a salon that seemed luxurious.

I decided to respond to Jade’s message, as I instantly felt something very exciting was about to come from this. I was bored and Jade was going to be my project to keep me busy. Unlike with any other girl who ever messaged me online, I kept the small talk short and quickly dove into the deep with Jade, with the intention of keeping the conversation going. I “opened up” and told her about the most outrageously dramatic life story I had, all of it made up as I went.

In return I listened, asked questions, and showed interest as Jade poured her heart out about her bitchy girl friends, that guy at a party that one time who touched her inappropriately, and her mother, who was all about outward appearances but secretly had been terrible raising her. Clearly never had anyone listened to Jade the way that I had that night. We talked until, I at least, had reached the early hours of the next morning, and for her it was midnight. Time to go to bed.

What kept me going all night was the pure dopamine in me as I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Jade, but only because I had played the “role” that I had just created. While I wasn’t catfishing her per se since she could see my real Instagram profile, I did not tell her one true thing about my life. It was all melodrama and tragedy. My love life? Complicated, and so very mysterious. That friend I had a picture with? Dead. Murdered actually. Even though in reality I had seen him that afternoon. The relationship with my family? So close but so dysfunctional. Things straight out of a bad romance novel. Bullshit. But exciting and relatable. Something I knew Jade would eat up. I was the emotionally blocked bad guy opening up to her and her only. That guy she could fix.

As we were finishing the conversation, Jade confessed she had never felt a connection with anyone ever before as well as she did with me. Nobody had ever opened up that quickly and jumped into such deep talks with her before. She was very obviously in complete awe. I was honest though - and probably because I felt a sense of empathy for once - when I warned her to be careful. “If this is what I think it is, then just stop it right now, Jade. Don’t end up getting hurt.”

“Wait, what do you mean? What do you think this is?”, she begged me to explain. “No way, I’m not going there. You know what I mean Jade. Just don’t let it happen because this will probably end up in me hurting you.”, was all my mysterious little persona gave her.

What I meant was that she was in love with me and I knew it. She had just found my profile hours earlier and messaged me on a whim, and now she was in love. She fell in love harder than she ever had before, and I could sense it. Not in love with me, though, but with my pictures, and with the fantastical persona I created for her on the go. We said our good nights and I felt a rush of dopamine that I can only describe as some sort of dopamine orgasm.

I was in love. I had no feelings for Jade, though. No, I was in love with her only as my new obsession. My new hobby. My new toy. I have done pretty exciting things in my life, but nothing came close to how exciting I knew Jade was about to become for me. I did not even have any intention of ever even meeting Jade. My intentions with her were to drive her completely and utterly insane with drama and being in love with me.

In the following weeks we texted each other every day for hours on end. Playing with Jade distracted me from work and kept me up all night, every night. Messages turned into phone calls and facetiming. I’ll admit, apart from my evil intentions with Jade and having no feelings for her at all, I did have a great connection with her in the sense that we could keep great conversations going. It really “clicked” between Jade and my fake persona.

As I kept the drama going I kept reeling her in more and more. She was scared to confess her feelings for me for a long time, but kept teasing them. Afraid the conversations would grow boring for both of us, I gradually turned them darker. First I wanted her to become jealous of me. I wanted her to be afraid to lose me. I wanted her to be insecure. So I started to tell her about the girls I met in real life. Since Jade purported to only be good friends with me, it was no problem for her to hear about my sex life. She even begged for me to tell her more.

But I knew it was working and she was secretly raging with jealousy. Soon she started picking fights when it became harder and harder for her to hold it in anymore.

“Who is that girl I saw in your Instagram Story, lol”, became: “I bet you have girls around you all the time when you go out.”, became: “I saw that you liked that girl's picture haha, is that your type?”, became: “You can get any girl you want, you would never fall for a girl like me”, became: “Just admit that you think I’m ugly, why do you even talk to me?”.

With these questions it was her intention to pick fights with me. She seemed to like to start them and keep them going. I pretended to be annoyed but oh, how I loved them. At this point I had stopped watching any sports, tv shows or anything. Jade was my only form of entertainment. And with all this drama I only kept reeling her in more and more.

Until finally one day when she had picked another fight and I pretended to ignore her because I was “mad at her” for picking all these fights all the time, she facetimed me crying and confessing she had feelings for me. She was in love with me ever since we talked for the first time, and I told her that thing about “not going there”. She wanted to be with me. She wanted me to move to America or for her to jump on the next airplane and come to me. She wanted to spend her life with me. She wanted me to fuck her brains out. I was her soulmate for sure.

This only led to me playing with her more and more. It wasn’t enough for her to be my drama and entertainment, or even for her to fall in love with me. I’ve had girls do that before. I needed more. Jade needed to go completely insane for me. Her friends and family needed to get involved. It was them who started to view my Instagram Stories. It was them who started messaging me to get to know me. It was them who started researching me online, as Jade had confessed. They asked for it so I made them part of it.

Fights were now about what that one friend said to me, or about me. About how her mother hated me, or how her dad picked my side over Jade’s. Did I love her back? Why wouldn’t I just say whether I loved her back? I must have had feelings for her, because why else did I keep talking to her for months? But why then did I refuse to let her come see me? All of that and more drove Jade to insanity. My only response came down to that it was her friends and family who had now driven a wedge between us. They were the ones who ruined it all. She had now lost me.

This started a whole new era of our “relationship”. We would have fights, I would push her away, I would return again, everything would be great for a while, she would be convinced I would come very close to finally admitting that I loved her, but then the fights started again, fights she started but I very subtly planted, and we would be back at zero.

Jade would be completely in love, but then hate me. Jade would have all of me, but then nothing. Jade would be happy, but then miserable. Confident, then insecure. Close to her family and friends, then turned against them. Be showered in compliments and love, then completely ignored. I was the one who giveth and taketh away. I had Jade under my complete control. Her emotions were my entertainment. Jade was my toy.

This drove her insane just as I wished from the start. She suffered from insecurities. She was turned against her friends. She was depressed. She had trouble eating anything or binge eat. But she said she was never happier in her life than when she had me. I was the best thing that ever happened to her. She loved me. Even if I didn’t admit to loving her back.

This went on until I started to get bored playing with her. I decided that it was time to make her really hate me in order for her to snap out of my spell. I was nothing but horrible to her now. When this didn’t seem to work I would even directly admit to her that I am a sociopath who is incapable of having feelings for her or anybody. This took about two months until she finally woke up. She blocked my phone number and all my social media with the intention of ghosting me. After that she regretted doing that a few times and she tried contacting me again. I just kept ignoring her until she finally moved on.

I might be crazy but I’m not one to stalk people. I checked on Jade once and she seemed to be doing much better, being freed from my claws. She looked healthy. It looked like her relationship with her friends and family had recovered. And she seemed to have a real life boyfriend.

As for my confession: I will do this again. I am aware of how horrible I was to Jade. I intentionally destroyed her life and played with her emotions. I have no explanation as to why Jade deserved to become my victim. But I feel no remorse and zero regret. I don’t feel good about what I did to Jade either. It’s just that I felt entertained doing it. And as soon as another girl, or fuck it, even a guy, falls into my trap and messages me, and I feel like they are a good victim, I will do it again. I will be much worse. I might even do it to a person in real life this time. That would be even more entertaining.

I'd like to hear what you think about this article. For the most part, I think the writing is okay and the numbers (dispossession) sound believable. First of all: Totally disagree on Messi never doing anything resembling pressing or defending though. His work rate isn't high, but that's just not true.

Regarding the main points. I think it's a disservice to both MLS defenders from other teams and somewhat disrespectful to Messi:

People don't want to be embarrassed by Messi, they are too "spooked"and overmatched

I get that some defenders don't want to be the person who breaks Messi's legs and ruin the league/Copa America, or be on the receiving end of fans who take it too far, but does anyone in MLS really think that they'll be a laughing stock for being outplayed by Messi who's done it to people 100x more high profile than any defender in the league?

I also don't think that a coach that doesn't explicitly tell his team to employ the notoriously dirty tackles that RM or the 2006 Chelsea side used against him would be unjustified. Again, I think the author is too simplistic in the explanations he's exploring. Tactical fouls can only take you so far, especially in the age of VAR. You can trade one or two yellow cards to turn a big goal scoring opportunity into a set piece, but this is not a game plan. You don't want to give Messi too many set pieces in the first place.

Then there also has to be an aspect of not wanting to piss IM off which could just backfire but more than that I think a lot of MLS players are simply athletes with sportsmanship who want to win cleanly and if they're not confident they can get a good tackle in they won't get overzealous. You can put this in the category "they're too spooked" but again, this statement alone just sounds too simplistic and is a disservice to both the opposing players in MLS and Messi. At least in my opinion because somehow the author manages to paint all MLS defenders as scared and clueless and at the same time take away from Messi's incredible performance this season

Il y a plus de 15 ans, j'ai volé à Miami pour embarquer dans une croisière. Mon ami allait se marier avec sa femme en croisière et il voulait que je sois le garçon d'honneur. Malheureusement, j'étais fauché et les billets d'avion et le prix de la croisière étaient à la limite de mon budget. Si je voulais économiser de l'argent, j'allais devoir y voler la veille au soir, mais si j'avais réservé un hôtel, je n'aurais rien économisé. J'ai donc décidé de dormir sur le sol de l'aéroport. Je me souviens qu'après avoir débarqué de l'avion, j'ai dîné et j'ai cherché un coin tranquille, où personne ne me dérangeait pas. J'ai utilisé mon sac de sport comme un oreiller, pour que personne ne puisse le voler.

Je me souviens que j'ai bien dormi, sur le sol d'un aéroport. J'étais tellement jeune ; maintenant, j'ai du mal à dormir dans mon lit confortable, un vrai oreiller, les lumières éteintes en silence et cetera.
